Friends and Family,
Thank you for all of your love and support. We wanted to let you all know that this morning our wonderful Dad returned home to our loving Father in Heaven. We love him and we miss him dearly already. And we are so grateful for the knowledge that our family can be together forever.
There's one thing that Dad talked about before his passing that has stuck with me. "There are a lot of things that cancer can't take away from us--it can't take away our love, it can't take away our happiness" and to this quote I might add, "it cannot take away our strength." True to who he is, Dad was strong until the very end.
We will let you know the details for his funeral in the coming days.
Thank you again for all of your love, support, and prayers!
Love,
The Wheadon Family
We love the Wheadon's Rick was an amazing man with an amazing family

Rick was one of the best men I've ever known. He was like a second dad to me. Whenever I saw him I'd be greeted with a genuine, big smile, and a big bear hug, like only he could give. Just thinking about the interchanges I've had with him over these past years as I've lived in Texas just makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry this terrible disease has taken him. I love the words he told you, cancer can't take away the love. And if there is anything that Wheadon family excels in, it's love. 💛💛💛 Sending EXTRA love, prayers, and strength as you try to find a new normal. That amazing Ricky-Tikki-Tembo will be so very, very missed.
Love, love, love, melis
Rick, we will miss terribly your strength of testimony, your undying love, and your infectious smile. The world has dimmed with your departure. We will continue to love you until we meet at Jesus' feet. And we will watch over and care for your dear Jana until you can do so again yourself. God's Speed, good friend. Bob and Diane Evans Family
ReplyDeleteWe were so saddened to hear about Rick's passing today. Rick was a wonderful man. Your whole family is such a shining example of love and what eternal families are all about. We love the Wheadon Family and pray that God's arms will surround you all through this difficult time. Love Lyn and Julie Bonner.
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely amazing man (and family). Even in his final hours he was thinking of others, reaching out to help his home teaching family with a need. What an amazing example to follow.
ReplyDelete- Our love and prayers.
Jana, we are deeply saddened to hear about Rick's death. Our high school lunch group has been talking between ourselves the last several weeks and keeping each other updated. Frank Allen has one of your relatives living in his neighborhood and after Rick's stroke a few weeks ago the message was that it was "family time now".
ReplyDeleteWe will miss greatly miss Rick. These last several lunches he had been able to attend have been a treat for our whole group. He has been and is a great friend. Lots of great memories.

Rick made our move to Alpine over 16 years ago such a joyous memory. He was so excited to meet our growing family and welcome us to the neighborhood. Rick had such a capacity to love unconditionally. He did not surrender this at the end of his mortal life, he carries this love to the Spirit world and will continue ministering to all around him just like he did in mortality. May his family feel peace at this difficult time. Love, Cindy Leishman

ReplyDeleteHaving never had a brother, Rick became mine. There are certain people with whom an immediate connection is forged, I'm sure, which began in our pre-mortal life. Again Rick was mine. Always loving, always giving, always putting others needs above his own and family first was his creed and example. From the fields hunting Pheasants, the mountains, the adventures or the two hour long talks in the car, your influence has and will always be a big part of my life. We are all better for knowing and loving Rick Wheadon. You will be missed!
ReplyDeleteLove always

ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your sweet husband and father. Jana has always been an example of strength even back in high school. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
ReplyDeleteDear Jana and Wheadon family... wasn't Rick the epitome of Christlike love, service, dedication to you Jana and all your posterity with eternal family as the main goal, a covenant keeping Priesthood holder, provider, protector, counselor, and so much more... all wrapped up in hugs, smiles, laughter, and genuine caring? We were ALL blessed by his incredible gifts. Although we know where he is... we'll miss him, "until we meet again". Love you... Larry and JoAnn Tolman
ReplyDeleteGod bless you all!
